Apex Legends: Origins, new details on Olympus map changes

All Game News

Respawn Entertainment and EA posted on the blog a post that allows you to dive deeply into all the changes coming to Olympus, the third map of the Apex games introduced for the first time in Apex Legends: Ascension.

In Apex Legends: Origins, a fleet of rogue ships arrived from space into the atmosphere of Psamathe, while a ship called The Icarus docked on Olympus, bringing with it a parasitic plant of unknown origin. The Icarus and the winding vines that protrude from the ship drastically change the landscape of Olympus, suddenly altering the snipers’ once clear view and further shaking the movement with more POIs. The corpses of scientists who worked aboard the ship can also be found on the island: these offer key cards that randomly regenerate and allow access to high-level loot aboard Icarus. Additional changes to Olympus include reduced ball redistribution to ease “third party” skirmishes and encourage new spins in key areas of the map.

Apex Legends: Origins will also deliver Arenas, a brand new permanent 3v3 mode, flying legend Valkyrie, a new weapon, a new Battle Pass, and more.

Apex Legends: Origins launches May 4 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam.
