Activision and Treyarch have announced all the details on the Call of Duty Season 2: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzonewhich will start on February 25th.
Activision’s new official blog post includes the roadmap for the new season, a new trailer showing the content (found below) and details on the content that will be introduced with the new season.
Here they are in detail

Here are also the release dates and times for the update:
- Black Ops Cold War will receive an update on February 23rd between 6:00 am and 8:00 am on February 24th
- Warzone will receive an update between 6am and 8am on February 25th
The news on Black Ops Cold War multiplayer
In Season 2 they will be introduced in total four new operators, one of which as early as February 25: it is Naga, described as a former warlord who smuggles weapons of mass destruction around the world. During the season, Wolf, Rivas and the highly anticipated one will also be made available Samantha Maxisprotagonist of the Zombies mode that for the first time in the history of the franchise will also become a playable character in multiplayer and on Warzone.
New weapons
With the new season, new weapons will also arrive, linked to the free objectives of the Battle Pass Season 2:
- FARA 83 Assault Rifle, unlockable at Battle Pass level 15
- LC10 SMG, unlocked at level 31
- Machete, available later in the season
- E-Tool Military Shovel, available later in the season
- R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow, available later in the season
- ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle, available later in the season

Zombies Outbreak mode
Confirmed for February 25, the debut day of Season 2, the arrival of the new Zombies Outbreak experience. The map will be of considerable proportions, and will be set in Russia, in the Ural Mountains. It will be a very special new chapter of the Dark Aether story that began in Die Maschine and continued with Firebase Z.

Zombies news
For the entire Zombies mode, some new features will be available, in particular:
- The Shatter Blast Ammo mod, which will cause each bullet to cause explosive damage to the enemy
- The new Frenzied Guard gear: When the player uses this upgrade, all undead are drawn towards him, and the only attacks he will suffer will be those towards his armor.
Additionally, two new types of Aether Crystals will be introduced – refined and flawless Aether Crystals – which will allow abilities to be upgraded up to level 5, when only the first 3 levels of such upgrades were available until now.

New points of interest
On the Verdansk map there are some new locations to visit. Here is the first information:
With the latest sighting off the coast of Rebirth Island, recent information suggests the tanker Vodianoy has disappeared at sea. However, recent images have identified a ship matching the description headed for the port of Verdansk. Operators in the vicinity are advised to exercise extreme caution, as the ship is carrying unknown cargo and its crew cannot be contacted.
Meanwhile, in Verdansk, something important is starting to boom underground.
Although other reports on these new locations are still classified, we recommend that you explore these areas at your own risk.
New mode: Exfiltration
In this particular new mode, teams will have to track down and keep a hidden radio in Verdansk: whoever manages to protect it to the end will have delivered the victory to him and his team. The mode will be available later in the season.
New mode: Rebirth Island Extreme Return
Particular and gigantic variant of Rebirth Island Return, in which the maximum player limit is raised to 90 users – double the traditional limit of Rebirth Island.
