Call of Duty, an insider is certain: Zombies Chronicles 2 is in development!

All Game News

The always knowledgeable Tom Henderson, who on the front call of Duty he has (almost) never disappointed with his predictions and leaks, drop the bomb: Zombies Chronicles 2 is really in development!

The rumors about the mythological DLC Zombies Chronicles 2 have been going on for years, after Treyarch’s surprise launch of the Zombies Chronicles package in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 in 2017.

Zombies Chroniclespresented at the time by Jason Blundell to the great surprise of the community (Infinite Warfare had already been out for months, and never before had Treyarch released a DLC after the first year of his game’s launch), contained eight maps of the Fully remastered Zombies modes, including Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, Kino der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-La, Moon and Origins.

At the time of its release, the absence of some highly regarded maps from the past caused a sensation, such as Buried, Mob of the Dead, Nuketown Zombies and Farm (or Farm).

If for settings such as Mob of the Dead and Nuketown the speech was dealt with differently (the respective remakes arrived on Black Ops 4, that is to say Blood of the Dead and Alpha Omega), some historical maps of the Black Ops series still remain today that have not been re-proposed.

One above all is obviously TranZit (have you read our special dedicated to the background of its development?), but there are also other settings that Treyarch has never re-proposed in Zombies sauce.

To unleash the fans of the mode we thought once again Tom Henderson, insider and journalist of Dualshockers, who has made an indiscretion of the past of which he is still 100% certain: the software house of Santa Monica, despite having said goodbye to Jason Blundell for a long time, continued development of Zombies Chronicles 2and the processing may be almost over.

The insider claims that the Zombies Chronicles 2 DLC is just a few steps away from completion; According to his sources, Treyarch has completed most of the maps, and the developers would therefore be interested in fixing the package details right now.

Despite this, however, Henderson reiterates once again that Treyarch has not yet decided how and when to publish the contents of Zombies Chronicles 2, and that these could slip to 2022. According to his statements, in fact, after Mauer Der Toten it is expected another map for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies modeafter which the attention will focus for several months on the next chapter of the series, Call of Duty: Vanguard, which seems to have been confirmed by the promotional image of Season 5.

The insider concludes his speech by stating that Activision would have prepared this Zombies Chronicles 2, almost certainly paid DLC, as a sort of “plan B” given the current lack of interest that the community seems to have towards Call of Duty: Vanguard, essentially repeating what has already been done in 2017 after the absolutely not exciting launch of Infinite Warfare.

Are TranZit, Die Rise, Buried and maybe other Zombies maps really ready to return?

Thanks for reading!
