During last night’s Nintendo Direct, Capcom unveiled that all 32 arcade classics included in the Capcom Arcade Stadium are now available for digital download from Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch ™.
The electrifying thrill of an arcade comes to Nintendo Switch with Capcom Arcade Stadium, which offers three different packs of 10 games, each highlighting a different era of Capcom arcade titles. The collection also includes the free download of 1943 – The Battle of Midway – and the separate add-on title, Ghosts’ n Goblins. Retro fans can select specific packs or purchase an all-in-one option containing all 32 games.
The three individual packages of Capcom Arcade Stadium offer access to ’80s classics like BIONIC COMMANDO and STRIDER or’ 90s titles like SUPER STREET FIGHTER II TURBO. Ghosts’ n Goblins will be available as an add-on game. Players can also opt for the all-in package containing all 32 games: the pack includes all three packages with 10 games each, 1943 – The Battle of Midway – at no additional cost and the Ghosts’ n add-on Goblins. In addition to the release on Nintendo Switch, Capcom Arcade Stadium will also arrive on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Steam. More information on these platforms will be revealed at a later time.
To celebrate the resurrection of the legendary Capcom series, the original Ghosts’ n Goblins will be available for free as an add-on game in Capcom Arcade Stadium before the February 25 release of Ghosts’ n Goblins Resurrection. Following release, the Ghosts’ n Goblins add-on game will be available for individual purchase or as part of the full package Capcom Arcade Stadium.
During the Nintendo Direct it was also revealed that Ghosts’ n Goblins Resurrection will introduce local co-op for the first time in the Ghosts’ n Goblins universe. Friends and family can now join forces with Arthur on his quest to defeat evil as one of three secondary characters: Barry, who creates useful barriers for protection; Kerry, who carries Arthur through danger; Archie, who creates bridges you can cross.
