It is now only a matter of hours, or days at most, before witnessing the reveal of the new Crash Bandicoot gamewhich will be the much noise Wumpa League.
As had already happened for the announcements of CTR Nitro Fueled and Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Activision has in fact sent to some content creators and influencers particular Crash Bandicoot-themed boxes, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the character but not only.
Streamer Julien Dachaurd, newtiteufwas among the lucky ones to receive Activision’s surprise package, and showed the opening of the box in his Instagram stories, revealing some objects of particular interest.
In fact, the box contains a pinata in the shape of a Wumpa fruit (the famous fruit that Crash collects in his adventures), a small lithograph dedicated to the 25 years of the series and to Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – by the way, in these hours the game is on offer on Amazon, you can see the offer just below – and also a small hammer that will be used to open the pinata, with … the Wumpa League logo!
The first rumors about Wumpa League they even date back to the spring of last year, when the always reliable leaker TGR revealed that Activision was working on a PvP title dedicated to Crash Bandicoot. After mysterious clues scattered within Crash Bandicoot 4, we returned to talk about Wumpa League a few weeks ago, in the vicinity of Gamescom, when the boys of Toys for Bob hid a reference to the game during a live broadcast.
If until a few hours ago all these clues remained in the field of speculation, the arrival of the Crash Bandicoot themed surprise packs for influencers is obviously the confirmation we were waiting for: Wumpa League really exists, and its reveal is practically imminent.
In fact, Dachaurd himself states in his Instagram stories that tomorrowlive streaming, will be able to open the pinata that Activision sent him, obviously along with the directives regarding the content embargo. It is therefore possible that tomorrow we will have a first idea of what Wumpa League will be, perhaps waiting for the official reveal of the game that could take place on Thursday 9 September during the PlayStation Showcase.
We just have to wait to find out what this mysterious Wumpa League will be, described a few months ago by the insiders as a sort of emulation of Fall Guys but obviously dedicated to the Crash Bandicoot franchise.
