Well yes, a few minutes ago the communication arrived that E3 2023 has been officially cancelled.
The news was probably in the air for a few days, considering the fact that, after Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo recently too ubisoft he had decided to desert the Los Angeles demonstration.
Here is the press release issued by ESA and ReedPop:
This was a tough decision due to all the efforts we and our partners have put into making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3. We appreciate and understand that the affected companies would not have had playable demos ready, and that resource challenges made attendance at this summer’s E3 an obstacle they could not overcome. For those who committed to the event, we’re sorry we couldn’t put on the showcase you deserve and have come to expect from ReedPop event experiences.
What can I say, certainly a cancellation that could represent the tombstone of the Los Angeles event, for which it is now clear that the main companies in the sector no longer intend to invest.
