The game of Tango Gameworks suffers the same fate as another Bethesda title, Deathloopand is indefinitely postponed to next year.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is the story of a supernatural warrior who fights the evil spirits that haunt the city of Tokyo after almost all of its citizens have disappeared due to a mysterious event.
Introduced last year as a time-exclusive PS5 console, the game was expected until a few hours ago by the end of 2021, but its release was eventually postponed.
The news is not too surprising, as a precise release date had not yet been communicated and that the game has never shown itself this year, unlike Deathloop which was also the protagonist of Sony’s recent State of Play.
Tango Gameworks explained the reasons behind the postponement to 2022:
We want to have the game in your hands as soon as possible so that you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we have worked hard to build. At the same time, we are also focused on protecting everyone’s health at Tango. Our new release window will give us time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we’ve always imagined it.
Nothing to do, therefore, for those who hoped to be able to play the new IP of the creators of The Evil Within by the end of the year. The wait will be extended for several more months.
