All Game News

Less than two months to go until the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguardyet, in the full style of tradition, we are already starting to talk about next chapters of the series coming in 2022 and 2023.

The players are in these hours trying for the first time the Beta of the new game from Sledgehammer Games, which was also updated last night with some news, yet there are those who are not particularly interested in Vanguard due to its historical context – the World War II, which is certainly not new.

Precisely for this reason, many are already waiting to find out what will happen in the parts of Activision for the next two years. At the moment it is obviously not said that the new main chapters of Call of Duty will continue with their annual frequency, however, with a thought also to the economic importance of the series for the American giant, we would be surprised to the contrary.

Even a well-known person is convinced of this insider of Call of Duty, which not only confirmed two new games for the next two years but also unveiled the first details on COD 2022 and COD 2023.

The report comes thanks to the usual and very reliable industry insider Tom Henderson, who has made a name for himself with the scoops of Call of Duty and Battlefield in particular. According to Henderson, the next two iterations of the series after Call of Duty: Vanguard will maintain the current tradition of the series, and will be structured as boots-on-the-ground. Translated, too the next two games in the series will not make use of jetpacksabandoned after Infinite Warfare, and will re-propose the classic gameplay “boots to the ground”.

Unfortunately, this is all that Henderson has divulged about the next two installments of the series, but it is enough to satisfy many fans who have always been unhappy with the futuristic turn of Call of Duty in the three-year period 2014-2016, and to give a first framework to the new ones. games in the series. Without jetpacks, therefore, COD 2022 and COD 2023 will be set in the 20th century or in the present day – including a future very close to ours.

Logically, given the precedents, there should be no big surprises. The 2022 chapter will be developed by Infinity Ward, and all the clues point to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 after the huge success of the reboot of the series in 2019. The next game, however, will again see Treyarch at the helm – and, as a result, we should review the brand of Black Ops.

The news of the gameplay boots on the ground is not surprising, moreover, given the importance that the battle royale Warzone has had for the franchise in the last 18 months, so much so as to push Activision to announce its titles right inside the game or to move everyone. his studies at work on it. The integration of jetpacks would certainly not marry with the dynamics of Warzone.
