News that was not needed: Hogwarts Legacy has been postponed to 2022.
To break the news is the official profile of Portkey Games, the Warner Bros. label that deals with the playful exploitation of the franchise Harry Potter. In a short note released on Twitter, the developers announce the postponement of Hogwarts Legacy, which therefore will not arrive later this year as previously announced.
Here is the widespread note:
We want to thank fans around the world for the exciting reactions to our label Portkey Games’ announcement of Hogwarts Legacy. Creating the best possible experience for the Wizarding World and for the players is very important to us, so we will give the game plenty of time.

Presented last summer, Hogwarts Legacy is the new ambitious game from Avalanche Software, which will be set in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century.
In the game we will play the role of a young student of Hogwarts, whose character, abilities and much more we will be able to choose. Hogwarts Legacy is in fact the first major open world RPG set in the magical world of Harry Potter, and it was one of the most popular announcements in recent months.
Despite the initial promises, Hogwarts Legacy will therefore fail to meet the 2021 launch window, and has been postponed to 2022. Finally, it seems that there are no changes regarding the target platforms of the game.
Hogwarts Legacy is planned for PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
