From the pages of PlayStation.com new details arrive on Rotthe magical creatures that will accompany the protagonist in the imminent Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
The action adventure of Ember Lab will be available on PS5, PS4 and PC in a few days, more precisely from Tuesday 21 September – and exclusively digitally. The developers, just a few days ago, reiterated that they are focused exclusively on the title and not think about the future, so much so that they declare that they do not foresee a sequel, as a video game, of Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
After the unexpected postponement in the summer (the game was initially scheduled for August, then postponed for about a month), Kena is ready to debut on PlayStation and PC consoles together with her world and the mysterious creatures called Rot, of which we can read some extra detail thanks to the official product pages on Sony’s official websites.
What are the Rot?
The forest of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, like any other environment in nature, needs balance. A balance that has, however, been struck and corrupted, and this is where the very important Rot comes in.
Here is what we find out from the PlayStation site:
Here, tiny and shy forest spirits known as Rot are responsible for carrying on the natural cycle of death and rebirth. But now they have hidden themselves in all the corners of their forest to escape the corruption that has overwhelmed them. Until, one day, they meet Kena, a courageous spirit guide.
The Rot, however, are not only small and tender creatures, but also hide a fighting spirit:
In these undeniably tender little creatures with their big eyes, their hairy bellies and their penchant for caressing under the chin, the heart of a true warrior actually beats … they just have to take a little courage before joining the battle.
Special abilities of the Rot
The Rot will be fundamental to Kena’s adventure to say the least. They will be able to move large objects, mend broken bridges, reposition sacred crystals, and find valuable items, but their help will also be vital in battle.
Among the various attacks that the Rot will be able to perform, we find:
- Spin Attack: This quick spin attack is effective for taking out groups of enemies.
- Slam Attack: Rot’s cloud leaps into the air and crashes into enemies, resulting in a slower but more devastating attack.
