The game will propose an original storyand therefore will not be based on any of the films in the Indiana Jones film franchise – we remind you that Lucasfilm is also preparing to start filming the fifth chapter, which will be directed by James Mangold.

The executive producer of the title will be Todd Howard, boss of Bethesda, and to take care of the development we find MachineGamesproponents of the successful re-launch of the Wolfenstein franchise in recent years with The New Order, The Old Blood, The New Colossus and various spin-offs.

For the moment, however, as you can see from Bethesda’s tweet, these are the only details that have been released. Furthermore, as the company itself recalls, it will still be time before we witness the real reveal of the game.

No news, however, regarding the platforms on which the game is planned – as you know, Phil Spencer has not ruled out that some Bethesda titles could be totally Xbox exclusive.

The franchise of Indiana Jonesopened by Steven Spielberg, Philip Kaufman and George Lucas in 1981 with the film Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arkit is certainly not new to the world of video games.

As early as 1982, following the extraordinary success of the film, Atari developed and released on the Atari 2600 Raiders of the Lost Ark, starting a videogame tradition of the adventurous archaeologist that has been going on for a very long time. The latest in this long series is Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, a 2009 game developed by Behavior Interactive and characterized by a particularly cold reception from critics. A few months later he also arrived LEGO Indiana Jones 2a classic Traveler Tales tie-in that transports Harrison Ford’s cinematic adventures in brick format.
