Marvel’s Spider-Man, the remastered for PS5 will have some new features including various Trophies

All Game News

Insomniac Games has unveiled new details on the Remastered of Marvel’s Spider-Mancoming up PS5 at console launch.

The new version of the highly acclaimed PS4 exclusive, released in 2018, was announced last week following the PlayStation 5 presentation event, in which we were able to see its spin-off Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles in action Morales.

Both titles will launch alongside PS5, with a special Ultimate Edition which will contain precisely the remastering of the first game and the unpublished spin-off dedicated to Miles Morales.

Have you already seen the new Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales gameplay?

But what news will the return of Peter Parker bring with it?

James Stevenson of Insomniac Games talked about it on the pages of the official PlayStation blog, specifying that the remastered of Marvel’s Spider-Man will not only raise the resolution, but it will also contain some unpublished news such as additional costumes, additional trophies and the new features related to the PS5 DualSense controller:

In addition to improving resolution, we’ve updated a large number of models to take full advantage of the power of PS5. The faces of characters, including the “next generation Peter Parker,” boast extraordinarily expressive animations, and the streets of New York have been made more vibrant with more people and vehicles, and increased draw distance. All with next-gen graphical effects, from ray-traced reflections to more realistic lighting and shadow systems. Like Marvels Spider-Man: Miles Morales, this remaster also offers a high performance mode in which to experience the game action at 60 frames per second. The uploads have been almost zeroed and there is no lack of support for 3D audio and the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller. Finally, the game includes three new suits for Spider-Man, new photo mode features and even additional trophies.

It was later confirmed that save files will not be cross-gen: If you have played Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4, you will not be able to download the save file and play it again.

Finally, some clarifications given the misunderstandings of the last few days. Marvel’s Spider-Man (PS4) will also be playable on PS5 thanks to the backwards compatibility of the console (here for more details), but users will not enjoy the technical improvements prepared for the Remastered. This version, in fact, will be available exclusively on PS5, also bundled with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales in the special Ultimate Edition.

The game will be released on November 19 in Italy, on PS5.
