Crackling announcement al Pokémon Presents today, February 26, which follows the confirmation of the remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl of which we have given you the first details here.
It’s official: the Pokémon series will have its first open world video game, and will be available in early 2022 on Nintendo Switch.
Game Freak has unveiled Pokemon Legends: Arceusa new open world game set in a bygone era of the Sinnoh region. The short trailer shown today during the show, which you can review below, shows us some first details about the game: the Pokémon will roam freely around the map, the players will have to sneak up and catch them by surprise or even chase them to catch them. The battlesunlike the traditional RPGs of the series, will take place in real timewith moves that will require energy to execute.
Players will also choose between Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott as starter Pokémon. Plus, there will be no transition between situations – battles and exploration happen without loading or interrupting.
This is, without a doubt, a very ambitious and innovative project for the Pokémon franchise, with a formula that fans have been asking for for many years. The open world structure represents a step forward, which we had already glimpsed from afar with Pokémon Sword and Shield and its wide explorable spaces.
Furthermore, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will explore the distant past of the Pokémon world for the first time, and this is also an important detail that Game Freak has certainly worked on to distinguish the game from the main series we know.
Over the next few months, new information will surely arrive on Pokémon Legends: Arceus. How does this curious project seem to you for now?
