Ubisoft announces Containmenta new timed PvP event for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. The event starts tomorrow, August 3rd, and will continue for three weeks until August 24th. Inspired by the new Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction game, Containment takes you to a new version of the Consulate map, infested with the Chimaera Parasite in the new Nest Destruction game mode. Rainbow Six Siege will be free from August 13-15, and players will be able to earn double Battle Pass points.
This event offers a taste of the world of Extraction in Rainbow Six Siege, where a group of REACT agents (Attackers) steps in to destroy the Nests and will fight a group of Protei, a deadly variant of Archaea that can take the form of any REACT operator ( Defenders) and mimic their behaviors with maximum speed and melee attacks. Defenders will have additional Health, Aruni’s Fist, and Oryx’s special abilities, but will have no weapons for the duration of the game. Attackers will have a standard loadout without modification and will have access to a reduced selection in the choice of Operators.
Containment will introduce the new Nest Destruction mode, which will see players fight on a Nest. On the one hand, the Attackers will be given a scenario with multi-level objectives: destroy the nest to open the final objective and win the round. On the other hand, to win, the Defenders will have to rely on melee attacks and Oryx’s Ramah Dash to stop their opponents. Obviously there is always one last solution to ensure victory: players will be able to trust in the old, but still effective, “get rid of the enemy group completely”.
The Containment Event features 33 unique items for Rainbow Six Siege Operators including IQ, Ace, Blackbeard, Amaru and Zero as the Attackers and Aruni, Jager, Kaid, Mira and Warden as the Defenders. The collection includes helmets, uniforms and weapon skins. Each Operator’s exclusive items are available for purchase as a Bundle, for a limited time, in the Shop section for 1680 R6 Credits or through the Containment Packs for 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Renown.
