Last night Capcom held the special Resident Evil Showcasein which the great protagonist of the event was obviously Resident Evil VIII Villagethe new chapter of the horror saga of which many details have been revealed.

The surprises do not end there, because PlayStation 5 owners can immediately immerse themselves in the world of Resident Evil Village: in fact, the stand-alone demo Maiden is available for downloadset in the mysterious Castle Dimitrescu in which part of the game plot will then be set.

In today’s first extended gameplay video, the development team revealed several new details including some features that recall fan-favorite elements from previous Resident Evil games. The protagonist, Ethan, will now be able to buy and sell items, purchase crafting recipes and customize weapons with a merchant nicknamed “The Duke”. Using the materials found during the game, he will be able to create priceless consumables, necessary to survive the terrors of the village. Using these supplies will also involve more strategic planning, with a revised inventory system based on space management that will be familiar to fans of the series.

The diverse cast of enemies that appeared during today’s digital show represent only a small fraction of what we will find in Resident Evil Village. Ethan will face many threats including the lightning-fast creatures that haunt him relentlessly and the mysterious daughters of Lady Dimitrescu who can transform into swarms of insects. The game’s disparate ranks of opponents will have their own distinctive attacks, so players will need to adapt their strategies with quick decisions so they understand when to attack, protect or flee in order to survive. Ethan has a new move in his arsenal to create greater distance from enemies and to gain valuable time in deciding his next move.

The pre-orders of Resident Evil Village are open today and allow you to book the Standard Edition in physical and digital version, a digital Deluxe Edition and a physical Collector’s Edition (pre-orders of the latter will be available soon at selected retailers).
