Resident Evil Village, details and dates of the new demo

The latest trailer for Resident Evil Village allows fans to take a deeper look at the locations, environments and enemies that players will encounter on their journey. The new footage has provided clues to an immense underground factory that could produce humanoid creatures en masse and a vast man-made lake that barely conceals what appears to be a colossal aquatic monster. The mysterious man who appeared during January’s Resident Evil Showcase is revealed to be Heisenberg. Although his name is now known, his role in protagonist Ethan Winters’ journey to find his daughter remains unclear. Series veteran Chris Redfield also makes an appearance with questionable motives, creating more mystery as to what his role is.

The heart-pounding action doesn’t stop once Ethan’s story is over. Fan-favorite game mode, “The Mercenaries,” makes its much-requested return with rich content and rewards, providing variety and replay value in addition to the core gameplay of Resident Evil Village. Players must complete increasingly challenging objectives before time runs out in this additional game mode, which is unlocked by completing the main campaign. Merchant Duke from the main game appears in the mode, offering weapons and upgrades to meet challenges. Additionally, players can acquire skills that enhance their weapons or physical abilities. It will be up to each player to decide which strategy will be most effective for each goal.

Intrepid gamers are invited to experience the action-packed horror that awaits them beforehand Resident Evil Village will be available on May 7th. Players can explore the village and castle play areas for 60 minutes in a limited-time demo for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Steam and Stadia. This cross-platform demo will be accessible for 24 hours starting May 2 at 02:00 CEST in Europe, with a pre-load option available from April 30 at 02:00 CEST.

In addition to the cross-platform demo, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players will receive two early access opportunities and will have an 8-hour window to play for 30 minutes in each session. The first appointment will allow them to dive into the village area starting April 18 at 7pm CEST with a pre-load option available from April 16 at 1am CEST. A second appointment will allow you to visit the castle area starting from 25 April at 19.00 CEST with a pre-load option also available on 16 April at 01.00 CEST.

The Resident Evil franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and the festivities continue with numerous announcements from today’s Resident Evil Showcase. One of the most popular games in the industry will have a whole new perspective as Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 4 will be available later this year on Oculus Quest 2, the next generation of all-in-one VR. Resident Evil continues its collaboration with other major IPs in the video game industry through a partnership with Behavior Interactive that brings Capcom’s survival horror series to the asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight. In broader entertainment, a new trailer for Netflix’s RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness anime series made its debut today.

Resident Evil Village is the highly anticipated action-packed survival horror title coming May 7 and is the eighth installment of the franchise that defined the genre, Resident Evil. It will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Steam and Stadia. Resident Evil Village will allow the free upgrade from PlayStation 4 to the digital version for PlayStation 5 and will support Smart Delivery for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One consoles. Those who will buy Resident Evil Village will receive free access to the multiplayer experience Resident Evil Re: Verse.

The pre-orders of Resident Evil Village are now available, with the Digital Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition available for all platforms, as well as the physical Standard Edition and the physical Collector’s Edition. The digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the digital “Trauma Pack”, which includes additional game content including a Samurai Edge weapon, the special “Found Footage” filter inspired by Resident Evil 7 biohazard, save options via cassette player, instant access to a particularly challenging difficulty level and more.
