As confirmed in the Capcom showcase last night, Resident Evil Village is coming on May 7, 2021 on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X / S and PC. Those who buy their Playstation copy will be able to play it indifferently on old-gen and next-gen, same thing for Xbox thanks to the Smart Delivery program.
Anyone wishing to immediately have a taste of what the new Resident Evil will offer can download the demo “Maiden”available exclusively for PS5. It is actually a “visual showcase”, An experience parallel to the official game created specifically to give a first look at the atmosphere and setting of Resident Evil Village. The gameplay of Maiden is reduced to the bone: in about a quarter of an hour of exploration, the player will have to sneak out of a dark dungeon to enter the Dimitrescu castle and try to escape. To continue it is necessary to collect pincers and lockpicks, as well as keep a cool head: the gigantic mansion would seem silent and uninhabited, but this is not exactly the case. From the small environmental details it is clear that the local ladies are anything but friendly: for example, you can see a finely decorated tea cup, but stained with something scarlet that is certainly not lipstick.
The demo “Maiden” is only available on PS5 but also for players not yet in possession of the new console there will be a way to try the title: it has been confirmed in the Capcom showcase that a second demo this spring for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Xbox Series X / S.
