Resident Evil Village – Producer considers it the best horror ever made

All Game News

Of Resident Evil Village has made a lot of rumors in recent times, especially after the release of the trailers which illustrate the vampire figure of Lady Dimitrescua decidedly “unexpected” villain for many and characterized by a perfect combination of feminine charm and evil charisma typical of vampires.

Beyond all the considerations that have been made on this figure and on the trailers offered to the public, the fact remains that the new horror of CAPCOM is one of the most anticipated titles for 2021. From the gameplay videos the spirit that pervades the title emerges quite clearly: just like in the previous Resident Evil 7: Biohazard we find ourselves in agloomy settingmade up of cramped spaces in an Eastern European village and above all of a story that will once again be the protagonist Ethan Winters and wife Mia.

In an interview recently published in the latest issue (185) of PlayStation Official Magazinethe producer of CAPCOM Peter Fabiano expressed his own opinion, quite strong, on the latest horror production of the Japanese software house, first stating the following:

Dimitrescu and his three daughters refer to what one might expect from the vampire lore. We’re not saying I am who I am, but there is definitely something that seems supernatural about what’s going on. We don’t want to give too much away from the story, but what I can say is that the creatures are all well placed in the context of the world of Resident Evil. We can assure you that Resident Evil Village will take into account the world and the general story of the series.

Fabiano then goes on to argue that the team is about to put the finishing touches on what will be the best horror video game ever made:

Concept and planning were something that had been in the minds of our developers ever since the end of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. The team grew fond of Ethan as a character, so we knew we wanted to continue his story arc. We wanted to continue to let players experience the game through the eyes of protagonist Ethan Winters. After all, this is a continuation of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.

This really helped keep our view on the goal. And because we are constantly sharing information between Resident Evil teams, this really helped us create what we consider to be the best survival horror game to date.“.

Ultimately, the producer claimed that the team was also inspired by Resident Evil 4the title of the saga with the highest Metacritic score ever:

You will notice that we drew a lot of inspiration from Resident Evil 4. The team went to great lengths to create a truly authentic atmosphere. There are many surprises that will keep you alert; players will find a balance between combat, exploration and puzzle solving“.

We remind you that Resident Evil Village will debut on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and Windows PC next May 7.
