What many suspected has recently been made official by Rockstar Games itself, and that is that GTA Online on next-gen consoles will have some exclusive updates.

A move that is certainly not unprecedented and that does not surprise that much; on the occasion of the transition of GTA V from PS3 / Xbox 360 to PS4 / Xbox One, it was announced, a few months later, that the updates for the older generation consoles would cease in favor of a support totally dedicated to the latest hardware.

The same thing, in short, will also happen with the transition to PS5 and Xbox Series X | S: next-gen consoles will have some exclusive updatesalthough other updates will also be guaranteed for PS4 and Xbox One.

When GTA Online launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S later this year, some vehicles will be able to be updated with all the new speed improvements and more. These special updates will only be available on the PS5 and Series X | S versions of GTA V – stay tuned for more details.

Gamers on previous consoles should therefore not be afraid of going the same way as PS3 and Xbox 360 users, at least for the moment. Support will continue, but users on next-gen will enjoy extra bonuses.

We also remind you that GTA Onlinewhich will also be launched as standalone content, will be available free to all PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5. Here you will find more details.

As for the future of the franchise, GTA 6 is certainly in development, although for the moment Rockstar Games has released only one official information about it – and we don’t expect more for at least a couple of years. The managers of the study also did not rule out the possibility of seeing one day GTA San Andreas Remasteredeven if for now it is only a matter of hypothesis.
