It is no mystery that Rockstar Games intend to bet on for a few more years GTA Online, which 8 years after its release continues to grind impressive numbers. What we discover today is that it will be the next-gen versions that keep the name of the series high.
Grand Theft Auto V is coming up PlayStation 5 And Xbox Series X | S by the end of the year, and will once again feature Rockstar Games’ blockbuster open world with new features, graphical and technical improvements, and much more. The full reveal of this new version of GTA 5 could take place during the much-talked about PlayStation Experience, of which, however, we are not yet sure.
What many suspected has recently been made official by Rockstar Games itself, and that is that GTA Online on next-gen consoles will have some exclusive updates.
A move that is certainly not unprecedented and that does not surprise that much; on the occasion of the transition of GTA V from PS3 / Xbox 360 to PS4 / Xbox One, it was announced, a few months later, that the updates for the older generation consoles would cease in favor of a support totally dedicated to the latest hardware.
The same thing, in short, will also happen with the transition to PS5 and Xbox Series X | S: next-gen consoles will have some exclusive updatesalthough other updates will also be guaranteed for PS4 and Xbox One.
When GTA Online launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S later this year, some vehicles will be able to be updated with all the new speed improvements and more. These special updates will only be available on the PS5 and Series X | S versions of GTA V – stay tuned for more details.
Gamers on previous consoles should therefore not be afraid of going the same way as PS3 and Xbox 360 users, at least for the moment. Support will continue, but users on next-gen will enjoy extra bonuses.

As for the future of the franchise, GTA 6 is certainly in development, although for the moment Rockstar Games has released only one official information about it – and we don’t expect more for at least a couple of years. The managers of the study also did not rule out the possibility of seeing one day GTA San Andreas Remasteredeven if for now it is only a matter of hypothesis.
