Is Sony preparing for a big surprise for the PlayStation world? The new rumors suggest that a new and important PS5 exclusive is coming.
Since the latest Sony console was launched on the market in autumn 2020, a series of exclusives have arrived that testify to the continuous growth of the first party studios of the Japanese giant and their philosophy.
After Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A great adventure, Demon’s Souls and Astro’s Playroom, which accompanied the launch of the console, have indeed arrived over the months Destruction AllStars, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and the new IP Returnal of Housemarque, recently acquired by Sony.
The PS5 exclusives department obviously won’t stop there, as the company already has other major productions scheduled for 2021, 2022 and beyond.
Guerrilla Games is for example working on Horizon: Forbidden West, a sequel to the highly acclaimed Zero Dawn which is currently slated for this year – however, rumors have arrived that it may be postponed. Furthermore, among the major productions of 2022, we certainly point out Gran Turismo 7 by Polyphny Digital, and the God of War sequel of Santa Monica who will stage the great Norse Ragnarok.
Sony, however, may have it in store a big surprise.
Directly from the podcast of Xbox It wasin fact, new rumors arrive that speak of a possible new collaboration between Sony and From Softwarethe famous Japanese software house that gave birth to the soulslike genre.
The collaborative relationships between the two companies have been very successful in the past. Demon’s Souls was one of the most popular exclusives of the PS3 era, while in 2015 came the surprising Bloodborne, one of the most loved games in the PlayStation 4 community.
Currently, we know that From Software is working on Elden Ring, an unreleased title written together with Game of Thrones author George RR Martin who edited the lore, but apparently the developers are planning something still secret.
The rumors on the web indeed want that From is at work on a PS5 exclusive distinctly soulslike, and that it will be an unprecedented IP. Nothing to do, therefore, for a possible Bloodborne 2, or at least this is what the rumors suggest.
Waiting to know if the rumors will be true, we remind you that Elden Ring will launch on January 22, 2022 on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
