After announcing release date and price of PS5 during the PlayStation Showcase, Sony did not manage pre-orders in the best possible way, causing confusion and problems for users, given the speed with which the orderable pieces sold out.
Both physical and virtual retailers, such as Amazon for example, have seen themselves besieged by reservations, thus taking measures and warning customers that PlayStation 5 deliveries will be delayed.
At this point sony intervened by posting a tweet to “calm” the waters a bit and mea culpa on the management of communication and on the opening of pre-orders.
Let’s be honest: PS5 preorders could have been a lot smoother. We truly apologize for that.
Over the next few days, we will release more PS5 consoles for preorder – retailers will share more details.
And more PS5s will be available through the end of the year. pic.twitter.com/h1TaGsGBun

Two months until the release of Playstation 5 in our country, it is our hope that the Japanese giant will be able to supply retailers with as many consoles as possible, to satisfy all eager PS5 users, including us.
