Star Wars: Republic Commandothe much-loved tactical team shooter of 2005 already re-launched on Xbox One in 2018, will also arrive on PlayStation 4. The announcement was made today by Aspyr, and will mark the game’s absolute debut on Sony consoles – the original title was exclusive to Xbox and PC.

As we said, Aspyr is taking care of the port of Star Wars: Republic Commandowhich will launch for PS4 and will be playable on PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility, starting April 6.

Although 16, the game has a strong following among Star Wars fans. The remastered, unlike the original game, is a single player experience with modernized controls. In the porting, the multiplayer mode was in fact abandoned.

In Republic Commando, players lead the Republic Delta squad as the Delta-38 (Boss) clone soldier, directing teammates Fixer, Scorch, and Sev with tactical maneuvers such as breaking and freeing, setting the sniper position, hacking doors closed and the like. Little curiosity: Temuera Morrison, the voice of Jango Fett in the prequel trilogy – and who is back in the final season of The Mandalorian in the role of Boba Fett – is also the voice actor of Delta-38.

On the same day, that is to say next April 6, Star Wars: Republic Commando will also be launched on Nintendo Switch.
