Starfield is somewhere between Skyrim in space and Han Solo from Star Wars, according to Todd Howard

Starfield was one of the big surprises of yesterday’s Bethesda Xbox conference. The details are still few, more than a year is missing from the release scheduled for 11 November 2022 on Xbox and PC consoles (and immediately on Xbox Game Pass), but some more information arrives from Todd Howard.

In particular, the curator of series such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls explained some extra details on the gameplay and the atmosphere of Starfield, also going to bother the franchise of Star Wars.

Speaking to the Washington Post, the executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios first stated that Starfield bears many similarities to the company’s most popular game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Howard has indeed defined Starfield as “A Skyrim, but in space”apparently confirming the feelings and rumors regarding the gameplay.

Bethesda, however, has no qualms in stating that Starfield he also drew inspiration from Star Wars, not only for the settings and design of the universe, but also for how the entire game will be approached. “For me, Starfield is the simulator of Han Solo. Get on a ship, explore the galaxy, do fun things “CEO Ashley Cheng said.

Statements that follow those of Todd Howard, who in the past has repeatedly stated that he is very fond of the franchise created by George Lucas in the 70s.

Speaking of Lucasfilm, we remind you that Bethesda is collaborating with the Disney film division to create a new game on another very famous IP, the series of Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford. At the helm of the project will be MachineGames, developers of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
