Tribes of Midgard, developers celebrate success by planting 40,000 trees

We point out this beautiful initiative by the authors of Tribes of Midgardwithin hours of another laudable decision by Rare that we have told you here.

The developer Norsfell and the publisher Gearbox Publishing they joined a nonprofit for planting 40,000 trees to celebrate the success of Tribes of Midgardthat was it downloaded over 250,000 times since its launch on PS5, PS4 and PC.

In a press release announcing the news, the two companies said that in the three days following the release of the action RPG on July 27, Tribes of Midgard became the ninth most watched game on Twitch with 100,000 simultaneous spectators. Another milestone that has been surpassed: players have defeated over 40,000 Jötnar, groups of Jötun (or giants), who roam the game world.

To celebrate this milestone, Norsfell and Gearbox have announced a partnership with One Tree Planted, a Vermont nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. With contributions from Norsfell and Gearbox, around 40,000 trees will be planted, although it has not yet been revealed when and where.
