How to access the Beta

Like the past years, the Beta will be divided into two periods which will concern first those who pre-order the game, and subsequently all the players.

The Beta is in fact accessible with early access for those who decide to pre-order Call of Duty: Vanguard. If you pre-order the game digitally, in any of its editions, you will automatically be unlocked access to the Beta download when it becomes available. If, on the other hand, you pre-order Vanguard at a retail reseller, you will be provided with a code that you will have to enter on the reference digital store, depending on the platform you have chosen for the preorder, to unlock the Beta in the future.

Physical retailers may not have the codes available yet, but we’re not sure about that yet. If you have particular news on this, you can report them here in the comments.

After the Early Access reserved for those who pre-order Vanguard, the Beta will be available for free to all players.

Download size

There are no precise indications about the weight of the software yet, however rumors from the Xbox world suggest that the Vanguard Beta could weigh up to 50 GB.

If confirmed, it would be quite in line with what has been seen in recent years. The Black Ops Cold War Beta, for example, released in September 2020, weighed in at 31GB on PS4, 21GB on Xbox One, and 40GB on PC.

Furthermore, we do not know if this Beta could also be published as a sort of “update” for the Alpha version published on PlayStation. We look forward to updates from Sledgehammer Games.
